Pizza and a train

A simple walk to town to drop off a letter in the mailbox turned into an eventful tricycle ride, pizza-eating, train-watching picnic.  On the way home we even picked flowers and played at the park.  Thankfully baby Desi likes the Bjorn and slept for most of the journey.

Smile!

It was probably just gas (or laughing at Auntie NeeNee), but it melts my heart every time.

Two week old tummy time

(on his new blankie from Uncle Brendan, Auntie Carrie, Brendan, Michael and Caroline.  Thanks!!!)

I think if we had done the Bitty Baby comparison on day 1, she may have been bigger.

Naptime

Learning about all the fun places to nap when not being held...bouncy, boppy,

and swing.

Locks of Love III

It was time this past Monday to chop it all off.  I waited until a month post partum this time hoping to not have to go as short as I did post-James, but to get the required 10 inches it all had to go.  She even used the razor in back which has never been necessary before.  Eek!  Oh well, it will be nice for the summer!

James is 2!

On May 1st our sweet baby James turned 2!  We celebrated with a little play date party.

Eagerly awaiting cake (or keek as James says).

He blew out the first candle all on his own and his big sister helped with the second one.

He kept signing for more and, since it was his birthday (and most of the other kids had left the table so I wasn't setting a horrible example), he had three cupcakes.
Opening presents with the help of his sister and making a phone call with popsicle bubbles.
Apparently his gifts weren't enough.  He disappeared into the playroom for a few minutes and, when Auntie NeeNee went to check on him, this is what she found.

Star of the Week

At Carolyn's preschool each child takes a turn as the Star of the Week.  Highlights of the week include the coveted job of class line leader, a bulletin board covered in pictures about you, bringing in a healthy snack and having a family member drop by as the mystery story reader.  Carolyn's week was April 9-13 and for some unknown reason she got to keep her pictures up the following week (so we added a few of her holding baby Desi).  Daddy surprised her as the mystery reader on the 13th and she brought in some white cheddar popcorn.  Her favorite things listed above are:  favorite color: pink and purple, favorite toy: dolls and favorite food: yogurt.
