Go, Cubs, Go!

A huge thank you to Papa Dave for getting us these awesome tickets to see the Cubs take on the Padres! Unfortunately it was 96 degrees and the third row is in the sun.  Snacks and lots of water got us through six innings when we decided it was time to head home to cool off.

The Hub

It was a gorgeous and hot Tuesday so we joined some friends for a trip to The Hub splash pad in Elmhurst.

Grandma Dolly watched the boys while Desi and I took CJ to school.  We had been running a little bit late so James was still in his jammies.

I've had baby Desi dressed for pool action on multiple occasions, but he usually ends up napping his way through our visit.  We finally had an awake day and got him into his floatie.

With summer rapidly coming to a close we have been busy trying to get in as many fun things as we can.  Today we ventured to Millenium Park with some friends for a Wiggleworms show, picnic and fun in the fountain.

Baby Desi joined us for an anniversary dinner at Ditka's. 

Celebrating 5 years

To celebrate our anniversary this year we took the kids to the Morton Arboretum, the site of our reception, We hadn't been there since our big day.  The weather was much nicer this time around and we were able to explore the Children's Garden and other exhibits.

Sorry that you have to look at this sideways but my computer won't let me flip it for some reason. Anyway, Carolyn has been a little reluctant to do any writing all summer, but I was pretty sure that she knew how to write (at least her name) and she finally showed me that that was true.  She still likes to write the letters "in a different way" sometimes, but overall she is making great progress.
