Roll over...I'm awake now

Madeleine completed her second back to front roll during morning nap today (the first was witnessed only by daddy two weeks ago). It woke her up so we are now trying to get her down for second morning nap:)

Our final celebration of the day was dinner with Daddy, Auntie NeNe, Grandma Dolly and Papa Chuck at Jimmy's Seafood Grill.

We celebrated Desi's birthday with a little Mickey Mouse play date party.  It was a gorgeous day so the party extended from lunch until the late afternoon as the kids went wild in the backyard.

Fun baking fact - you can bake a cake in a waffle maker.  This is seven butter recipe golden Mickey cake waffles layered with vanilla buttercream.

Firefighter James

Once a month a local firefighter comes to James' school to discuss various aspects of fire safety. The program culminates with a field trip to the firehouse. Desi, Madeleine and I decided to tag along at the last minute.

Bedtime and naptime went smoothly yesterday, but naptime today was a little harder. He spent at least half an hour playing before passing out on the floor. Can you find him?

Arbor Day

Our village garden club gives a sapling to every kindergartener on Arbor Day. Carolyn's is a black hills spruce. We aren't sure where it is going to go so for now it lives in a pot on our deck. After planting it, I promised to show her my tree, still growing strong 28 years later next to the fire hydrant on Gilbert.
