Fish-face.
Swinging. Carolyn thinks it is especially fun when someone is on the swing next to her.

Cruising. We have quickly learned that her sole purpose for learning how to crawl was to get to objects that she can pull herself up on to practice walking. This includes her crib, the couch, the coffee table, her activity table and other assorted toys that don't really seem like they were designed to have a toddler pulling on them with all her weight. So far nothing has toppled over onto her, but we are starting to child-safe (there is no way we'll ever be child-proof) the house. After a few falls backward onto her head (onto soft objects, of course), she is starting to learn to drop onto her bum when she tires of cruising.

Reading. This was not a posed shot. I sat her down on my bed, with a few toys around her and she went straight for the book, opened it up and started to read. We ordered some new board books this weekend because, much as we love them, the little monkeys and colors are starting to get stale (for the readers, that is).

Peek-a-Boo. Carolyn loves to play Peek-a-Boo. She'll use duckie, a burp cloth or, in this case, her dress to hide behind. She'll pull the item down and then look around to see if anyone is watching her. She giggles hysterically when you acknowledge her silliness. I'll try to get some video of this soon.
Leaves. A favorite treat these days. Last week, when we thought we were done with the snow, Desi and I started cleaning up last fall's leaves to give the spring bulbs a chance to get some sun and water. Carolyn sat on the grass next to me and tried to eat everything in reach: some twigs, a few blades of grass and some leaves. (it snowed last night, so the flowers may have been better off covered in leaves for a few more weeks)

she's getting big and doing big girl things - fun! we have that farm book she's reading, too.
ReplyDeleteLook at that sweet little pucker of her fish-face...love it! And, we hope she gets over the peek-a-boo with the dress by the college years! ;-)
