After a night of our favorite, late March Chicago snow, we ventured out to nearby Fullersburg Woods for their Maple Syrup Sunday event. The guided tour taught us about the history of maple syrup from the days of the Native Americans to the pioneers to today. It ended with a sample of maple syrup made right there in the woods. They only make 4 gallons a year, so they don't offer any to take home, but Carolyn enjoyed both Daddy and Mommy's samples.
