Every year in our village you can receive a truckload of free mulch. After putting in the request with the public works department, they empty the truck at the end of your driveway and it is up to you from there. Since Desi was at work when ours arrived and it looked like it was going to storm, I invited Grandma and Papa over to watch the kids while I went about spreading the mulch around. They, of course, arrived with shovels and things to help with more than just the little ones. It still took close to three hours to spread it all around the flower beds in front and in back, but it would have taken much longer on my own.
(already an hour into the pile and it still loomed large)
