Reading. She is great at turning the pages and looking at each page. To further a love of books we joined a class at the library called Read 'n' Rhyme Romp. The librarian leads us (kids 3-24 months with adult) in reading books, singing songs and nursery rhymes. Carolyn wiggles out of my lap onto her tummy to watch the other kids dance and run around the room.
Standing. She can't quite get up on her own, but, if you help a little, she'll grab on to whatever is in front of her and play there. She particularly loves the monkey that her head is blocking in this picture. His hands go up and down like a scale which prompts the music to start.
Upside down. Sometime in the last few weeks she figured out that it is really fun to look at the world from a new angle. She does this over and over again, sometimes without warning, so we have to be extra careful when holding her.
Sleeping/Her thumb. We decided this week that it was time for her to say goodbye to Gumby (her pacifier) so her thumb has taken on a larger role in naptime. We are trying to limit this to a naptime/bedtime only habit. Also, after two weeks of waking up at night (I really hadn't missed the 1:30 and 4:30 am feedings), she is back on track sleeping through the night. I think the problem stemmed from my being sick for a week, which threw her routine out of whack, and the introduction of cereal as we figured out how much she needed at each meal. It was so nice this morning to find her back to her smiling, cooing self.

Is it wrong that I have the same rubber duckie set for myself? :o)
