After ballet we went out to Clarendon Hills Arabian Nights Farm for the Hinsdale Junior Women's Club Halloween Party (a friend is a member and invited us). They promised a bouncy house, pony rides, games and treats, and they certainly delivered.
We started with the bouncy house which Carolyn especially loved because it had a horse's head and tail.
Then Carolyn said she wanted to go on the pony ride (which was really a horse ride). This surprised me since she has refused, sometimes with tears, all previous pony ride opportunities, but she was adament so we got in line. She couldn't wait for it to be her turn and happily went with the woman over to the stool to climb on. She was a little nervous at first, but smiled the rest of the way.
Then the woman asked if James wanted a turn. I thought he might be too young, but she said that if he would go to her she would try putting him on the horse. I said okay and he loved it, too! I'm so proud of my little equestrians!
Then we went in the barn where the tamer horsey ride and other games were. It was really crowded and hot so we didn't stay long.
Sibling love!
