We landed, found our rental car and headed to our hotel in the Union Square neighborhood of the city. After an hour or so of relaxing we went to the lobby restaurant for some breakfast before heading out to explore. Our first stop was the Method (soap) office where Desi consulted last year. From there we decided that the walk to Fisherman's Wharf was probably too much for the kids so we hopped on the a city bus (the second one that came to the stop because we couldn't figure out how to pay). We wandered around Fisherman's Wharf stopping to see the bread creations at the Boudin bakery, watched a one man band street performer and explored the SS Jeremiah O'Brien (a Navy Armed Guard vessel from WWII similar to what Papa Chuck was on in the Pacific). From there we hopped on a cable car (both of our phones died just before we boarded so no pictures from the actual ride) and took it to the end of the line near our hotel. We ended the evening with dinner at Burger Bar with my friend Christina (who we hadn't seen since our wedding) and her boys. So a fun and exhausting day!
